Day 1
Colombo – Kandy (approx. 2 hrs 30 mins)
On day one, you will fly into Colombo and take a car to Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to get up close and personal with these majestic creatures. Learn about the many spices used in Sri Lankan cooking at the Mawanella Spice Garden, which you may visit later. Now that you’ve arrived in Kandy, it’s time to settle in for a really remarkable stay.
Day 2
Kandy
Your next day will begin with a sightseeing trip to Kandy, where you may take in the sights and sounds of this historic city. Stop by the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, home to more than 4,000 plant varieties, and the Buddhist holy site, the Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic. Then you can take it easy at your hotel while taking in the stunning scenery.
Day 3
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (approx. 2 hrs)
Today you’ll go to Nuwara Eliya, the epicenter of tea production in Sri Lanka. Be sure to stop along the road and take in the breathtaking views of Ramboda Falls. Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful town in the mountains where you may relax and enjoy the crisp air.
Day 4
Nuwara Eliya
On day 4, you’ll go to a tea factory and plantation to learn more about the process of making Ceylon tea. Taste some of the greatest tea in the world and find out how it’s made, from harvesting the leaves to crafting the perfect cup. Later, stop by Gregory Lake, a tranquil spot surrounded by verdant hills, and take it all in.
Day 5
Nuwara Eliya- Bentota (approx. 3 hrs 30 mins)
After breakfast, make the trip to Bentota, a beachside town with a plethora of exciting activities. In Kitulgala, you can go rafting down the Kelani River for a thrilling adventure, or you can just kick back and relax on the beach.
Day 6
Bentota
On day six, take a boat trip along the Madu River, a tranquil river surrounded by mangrove trees and punctuated by small islands. See how turtles are being saved from extinction firsthand by visiting a hatchery. Now is the time to relax and take in the sights of Bentota’s breathtaking scenery.
Day 7
Bentota – Colombo (approx. 1 hr. 30 mins)
For the last day of your trip, you will leave Sri Lanka forever when you board your aircraft out of Colombo. Before leaving, soak in the country’s natural wonders and cultural offerings so you can remember this trip forever.
